What do you do when you miss the 5:34 train and it's frickin freezing?
You set yourself down at the nearby pub and get on with the Christmas knitting:
That there is more than halfway through a scarf for dad. The stitch is based on Her Royal Harlot and I've made it narrow because I have special plans for the vertical edge to make it wider.
I've been living in England for over 6 weeks now and don't worry, I have more than half a scarf going in the knitterly department. No decent pics, but I finished mom's (mum's) Lotus Blossom Shawl, I'm at the home stretch for a pair of Elfine socks, and I've been sporadically working on some Mata Hari socks using some very pretty blue-ish Tess yarn.
Also, I am very happy/sad to report that my handknit socks are getting WAY more play here than in San Diego. Happy because my feet are toasty, sad that it's so cold I need them.
