Kris once called me a knitting pusher, but what do you call the person who pushes the pusher?  Not only has she influenced me to amass a lot of yarn, needles, notions, patterns, and projects but now my bloglines subscription has just about doubled because I went perusing her subscriptions.

But her powers can also be used for good.  She's been doing a goal-setting thing for a while now and gosh darn if that doesn't sound like a good idea.  So, since it's about the start of December (well, close enough and I'm bored) let's start off.

December Goals:

1. Finish the hoody on Hudson and order a zipper
2. One more wine cozy for Christmas gift list
3. Begin Jaywalker socks (still debating joining the KAL)
4. Cast on for Hourglass Sweater (note to self: check corrections) (dare I join the KAL?)
5. Make progress on Branching Out Snowflake scarf

Yeah, so about that last one. Branching Out and I are not speaking to one another.  I don't know if it's the pattern or if it's reading off a chart but I'm through with it for now.  Which is too bad because it's a lovely pattern.  And everyone says it's so easy, which does nothing except make me feel stupid.

Instead I'm following a lacy "Snowflake" pattern out of my 99 Knit Stitches book.  Pics forthcoming as soon as I have enough repeats to show the pattern off.  So far I'm on row 20-something and we're having a lovely time (neener neener to you, Branching Out!)

Woo hoo, it's TWO completed projects!

First is the mini-Clapotis:

Yes, I know, it's another gratuitous boob shot. But it's a freakin scarf, how else would I wear it?

It was really FUN to knit.  Those dropped stitches sure add some thrill.  I am also now a Lorna's Laces convert.

And next is Harlequin Cap number 2 (aka Another freakin sock yarn beanie)

Next up I'm working on some wine cozies using some cheapie stash yarn (nothing wrong with a little Simply Soft but damn, it's taking up room and Stitches West is coming up).  Those are knitting up super fast and they're going to be Christmas gifts.

Then I'm going to start Jaywalker when Kris' yarn comes in.  Still contemplating joining the actually KAL... it's like if someone told me to do something, that's a sure fire way to make sure I won't.

Last night I had another knit night! The numbers are slowly growing:

We have, from left to right clockwise starting with:

• Marisa who worked on a black sweater for her husband (that's love)
• then Kris, who switched from a Christmas scarf to her socks,
• Robin, who is working on a patterned basketweave scarf AND a "plain" knit scarf (to soothe her soul when the basketweave frustrates her)
• Cindy working on a cute baby kimono from Interweave
• newcomer Lauren working on a very fuzzy and soft scarf
• Kathy who is swatching (YES, the newbie is SWATCHING, I'm so proud) on some Clover lace but she got a bit frustrated about three times through
• and finally Rosario working on a modified Chinese Charm bag (she's weaving in some furry yarn and some sparkly yarn in random, zen-like stripes).

Does this look familar?  Yup, thought I was done doing reverisible beanies in sock yarn, but what can you do when someone looks at you with puppy dog eyes and says "Gee whiz, a beanie in Yankees colors sure would be nifty."  Ok, that's not exactly what he said, but the puppy dog eyes are no lie.
