British shows that you peeps in the states should make note to check out:
Extras - Ricky Gervais (the guy from the British version of The Office) plays an actor that is stuck only getting roles as an, duh, extra. Every episode has a cameo appearance from a famous actor/actress, who play themselves in a very self-satiring, very funny way. Fave episodes for me so far are the ones with Patrick Stewart and Kate Winslet. Although, the Ben Stiller one is also pretty damn funny too. Shit and the one with Ian Mckellan from this season is awesome as well.
Peep Show - The two guys on this show play the "Mac and PC" roles here in the UK. The show is shot from the character's point of view along with internal dialogue. Despite the repulsive personalities of the main characters, I totally love this show. Probably because they come up with quotes like these:
-
Valerie:
Just like, be honest about it. I mean let's line up, two naked rows,
best-looking people can pick the best-looking, the dregs get the dregs
and we can all go home and get it over with.
-
Jeremy Osborne:
This is good, this is just like watching a porn film, except I can't see anything, I haven't got a hard on, and I want to cry...
-
Mark Corrigan:
[thinks] If he hangs himself over this I can stick an orange in his mouth and call it a fatal wanking accident
-
Super Hans:
Tell you what, that crack is really more-ish.
