Thanks to Pensive Frog I'd like to introduce everyone to Dinosaur Comics.
I'm glad I'm not drinking something or else I'd spit it out.

I have a few more pics from the Bear trip.
We stayed at a cute little cabin:
I lurve animals. I think they are a vital part of our existence, sometimes cute, and sometimes very tasty. So I was delighted to see that the owners of the cabin shared my respect for the wild kingdom and decorated their hearth likewise:
My room in the attic was a tad creepy but comfy enough after a long day of boarding. Other than the broken springs. And musty pillow. And The Lamp That Would Not Turn Off.

I went to Big Bear this weekend with Mabel, Gary, Mark, and James. Snow was ok, got some good boarding done, it was crowded. Ok that's enough talk about boarding. Let's get to the juicy bits: Night-time shenanigans!
Around the corner from our cabin, we spotted a local dive called The Roadhouse. As exhausted as we were Saturday night, we roused ourselves enough to check out the scene. We immediately knew that this was our sort of place:
And it was totally our sort of crowd:
We like keep things classy and sophisticated.
Mabel and I attempted to contribute to the establishment's atmosphere by a few choice selections on the jukebox:
Unfortunately, the crowd was just not feeling Bel Biv Devoe (P-p-p-oison! Poison! Poison!) and the live band cut our set short. Fortunately, they were cool:
While Mabes and I were occupied by our musical endeavors, the others got schooled at pool:And shuffleboard:
Whatchoo know about this game, son? I ownz you!
There was a bit of action going on outside the bar. An honest to goodness brawl was about to set out but the bouncer (who was as drunk as the patrons) was able to chill things out:
(Don't let the red cup fool you, it's water. They serve water in red cups. CLEARLY we are in a strange and different land.)
All in all: A++++++! WOULD GO AGAIN!

Every week or so Sar sends me the USWeekly cover shot. This week I see this:
Do you know what is just shamefully sad? The first thing I think is, "If she has the baby 7 days late, we'll have the same birthday!"
Jessica vs. Britney: Jessica will fall from publicity grace faster than Britney's comeback, providing a brief interlude for any ambitious up and coming to grasp, thus leaving these two in the gutters of gossip. Discuss.

If you haven't heard, cute is the new hawt.
Have you checked out Cute Overload yet? If not, what's your problem? Are you a robot with no heart? Get over your latte drinking cynical oh-the-world-so-bores-me attitude. Go squee over this. How does your head not explode looking at this?
I am on pins and needles waiting for Nabaztag to arrive in the US. CUTE pins and needles. Check out the demo, especially the "Ear Talk". You send love through rabbit ear manipulation! Ok that doesn't sound cute, but if that demo does not bring a grin to your mug, you are truly a robot. Is that what you want to be? A cold, heartless, robot?

Sometimes at night when I'm waiting for sleep to overcome me, I re-live past experiences. More often than not, they are embarrassing, painful, better-left-forgotten moments that I would normally not indulge in during conscious hours.
Except that they are fictional memoirs. I change my attitude. I change my reactions. I change other people's reactions. I even change how I look (you wouldn't believe how often I'm suddenly 5'6"). All this to try and make things right again. If I don't like how things are progressing *zip* I hit the mental rewind button and start again with different variables set.
I don't know why I do this. You can't change the past. Is it like going over your midterm results so you're better prepared for the final? Am I hoping it prepares me for the future?
But no two situations are the same. There's no use in anticipating that which may happen because it will never be identical to the past. It's another time, another place, another me.

I have nothing to talk about these days. (other than knitting.) (shuddupyou'rejustjealousidon'tmakeyoushit.)
In the meantime, do yourself a favor and pick up Sia's album:
Sound familiar? She's the voice behind a lot of Zero7's songs, and now she's got her own album. (Well she has for a while, but now it's available in the US). Lovely lovely stuff. The radio release of Breathe Me makes my heart do funny cartwheels in my chest.
This is the thing I was hoping Imogen Heap would be. I was excited about that album (FrouFrou is on major rotation on the 'Pod) but needless to say her solo project fell flat for me.
I would link to Imogen's album on Amazon but I just saw that it's infected with Sony's "copyright protection software" which happens to open a security hole in your computer. Fuktards.

That last post was entirely un-mimsie-like so I'd like to redeem this blog by presenting to you:
Why I am Hearting Jessica Alba These Days
How does someone look cute, stunning and hot all at once? And she has some nice arm candy to boot. Oooh I'd hate you if I didn't love you right about now.

As if the surcharge wasn't enough to hate Ticketmaster.
At any rate, if you've made a recent purchase through them, check your cc statement to make sure they didn't add extra charges.

In case you missed Al Gore's speech last night on C-Span, here's a transcript (Left-click, Save as). It's quite riveting. Yes, Gore--Riveting. It's kinda long and I'm sure it's more interesting as an audio stream but here are some enticing excerpts:
"What we do know about this pervasive wiretapping virtually compels the conclusion that the President of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and persistently."
"The greater the power of the executive grows, the more difficult it becomes for the other branches to perform their constitutional roles. "
"The President claims that he can imprison American citizens indefinitely for the rest of their lives without an arrest warrant, without notifying them about what charges have been filed against them, and without informing their families that they have been imprisoned."
"CIA analysts who strongly disagreed with the White House assertion that Osama bin Laden was linked to Saddam Hussein found themselves under pressure at work and became fearful of losing promotions and salary increases."
"Moreover, too many Members of the House and Senate now feel compelled to spend a majority of their time not in thoughtful debate of the issues, but raising money to purchase 30 second TV commercials."
"And too many incumbents have come to believe that the key to continued access to the money for re-election is to stay on the good side of those who have the money to give; "
And it goes on and on, but really... riveting stuff. I'd like to know where this Gore was in 2000. You shoulda done this speech when the network cameras were on you man.

Hmmm I thought I had more to write about but suddenly I'm apathetic and feel like eating some beef jerky. Yeah it's 10am, so what of it.
