Amidst the hustle and bustle of the wedding post, I overlooked some other Notes from Home, which I'm sure somebody will find amusing even if it's at my own expense.
Usually my mom picks me up at the airport, but this time it was my dad. It was a pleasant change, he got home from work early that night.
D: How was your flight?
M: Good good. Slight delay but ok.
D: You're going to a wedding tomorrow?
M: Yup, my old roommate!
D: Shouldn't you start thinking about getting married?
M: WHAT??
D: No really... before you know it, you'll be 27!
M: OMFG NO WAY!!
Ok, I didn't really say that last part, I think I just laughed. But seriously, from Greeting to Guilt in 5 sentences. That must be some sort of record.
Flash forward to Sunday night, we're all chillin in the living room. My parents got some sort of digital Korean programming so there's always something on for them to watch. I don't understand much of it but Korean dramas have a unique characteristic in that they are highly entertaining even without benefit of comprehension. Something about the androgynous guys and the anime looking girls is just fascinating to watch. THESE are the ideals of my generation? Plus sometimes they wear cute clothes. (The girls, not the guys. The guys are all a fruit and a half.)
But I digress.
So I'm fiddling around with my dad's new cell phone, showing him how to take a picture with it. I also taught him how to lock it cause it turned out he's taken about 12 pictures of his pant's pocket. Anyway, I also showed him how you can set the Caller ID with a picture so now when I call him he can see my goofy grin on the screen.
M: Look Dad, now you won't forget what I look like.
D: Mm-hmm... hey, now I can show my friends' sons what you look like!
