When do you tell someone that you have a blog?
It's one thing to tell existing friends. Having a blog only confirms what they already know, I'm an internet nerd.
It's even easy to tell friends of friends, especially if you've already stalked their blog via your friend's own blog.
But when I make friends outside the scope of the web (yes, I can make friends that way too) there comes a point where I have to figure out 1) how to divulge details of my alternate universe and 2) if it's prudent to divulge such information at all.
It seems that the easy thing to do is to just point them to this little space and say, "Ok, here's how you can find out a crapload about my life but keep in mind it's rather superficial so it's not REALLY me... but it's still important so take notes". But that seems to take value away from getting to know someone the old-fashioned way: You know, with the "talking", one conversation at a time... Rather than linking them to an archive of 100+ postings.
Besides, who has time for that? It's more likely they would only skim a couple of entries here and there... and with my luck they would look here and there, and then I'd wonder how come they don't talk to me anymore.
