Party's over, the dishes cleaned, the red cups tossed away. From what I can remember, I had an awesome time. Thanks to everyone who came, hope you had an awesome time as well.
Going with the Christmas-slash-Luau theme, Alana and I decorated the place out with leis and tinsel and tried to come up with some appropriate names for our drink concoctions: Sandy Claus, Don-ho-ho-ho Punch, Hawaii Five Ho, Kamanawanaleia, Mumu Remover, and the Horizontal Hula.
We had a White Elephant activity, just like the Christmas Party and I think that was pretty much a success. The masturbating monkey made an appearance once again (cleverly disguised in a box packaged for a clock) and not just one, but TWO condom packages. We hang out with some very classy circles of friends. Anyway, the great thing about hosting the thing is that people were so absentminded by the end of the night that a lot of people forgot to take their gifts with them. This is why I am now the proud owner of Best of Will Ferrell Vol. 2, a universal remote control, and two huge boxes of candy. This is in addition to the gift that I selected, a piercing variety set including a tongue bar, nipple/belly ring, and a prince albert ring. The only reason I know it's for a prince albert is because the gift giver thoughtfully wrote that on the package.
I DO remember that at some point some neighbors "dropped by" (i.e. crashed) and brought the cutest rott puppy EVER. I also remember meeting at least 3 other people who just followed the music to see what was up. The hostess in me can't help but feel a little flattered that our party seemed interesting and welcoming enough for strangers to crash.
