For a non-football-watcher, that was actually a pretty good Superbowl.
I was invited to Jeremy's place, but I decided I'd rather stay at home in my PJ's. So I settled down for some football with my socks.
The first part was a little disappointing with everyone sucking all around (turnovers for the Eagles and penalties everywhere for the Patriots) but by the third quarter they seemed to have hit their stride. But then I found out why everyone likes and hates the Patriots so much: they're very good. I don't know what the Eagles were trying to do (huddling with the clock running at 3 minutes?? helloooo) but their third touchdown was fun to watch. But as the saying goes, too little, too late.
I don't know why I'm even sharing this. For non-football fans, this is pointless commentary and for the football fans, worthless commentary.
Anyhoos, commercial-wise, my favorite this year was actually the one by the NFL where they had players who didn't make it to the Superbowl singing "Tomorrow Tomorrow". This one guy interrupted his verse to yell at his kids to shut up. That was great. The tagline was something like "Tomorrow we're all undefeated". Awesome. Kudos to that marketing guy.
Ok, that's about as sporty as I get. And as much fun as that was, I'd have to say that what I'm really waiting for is American Dad.
